THE K-POP PHENOMENON

K-pop

K-pop : an abbreviation for Korean Pop, specifically from South Korea. Many of these artists and musical groups have branched out of South Korea and have become popular in many countries around the world. The popularity of K-pop is often considered a part of the rise of the Korean Wave, the recent surge of popularity of contemporary South Korean culture in Asia. – Wikipedia

So the new sub-culture of pop music has been made and affirmed. We go beyond Sandara Park, K-pop as a genre is surely gaining a continuous momentum.

FACEBOOK THE MOVIE

facebook the movie

They say Justine Timberlake will play a role? Whoa.

With its 200 million active users worldwide, Facebook the movie AKA “The Social Network” is being cooked. Buzzed to start filming later this year, David Fincher (director of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) is pitched to head the direction.

With Columbia Pictures bringing the production, the film will tell the story of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as he scaled the site from a Harvard dorm room to the world’s most popular social network.

Is this an indication that Facebook really outlasted Friendster? I never heard a movie inspired by Friendster, have you?

BARRACK OBAMA-NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

barrack obama nobel peace prize award

The Nobel Committee cited "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." – Nancy Gibbs.

Many people were thrilled with the award. The president himself was surprised. In CBS evening news I’ve seen people from different states giving out their opinion about the awardee. Some were gracing his name with great compliments while some simply raised a doubtful eyebrow.

The Nobel Peace Prize has always been so credible and critical in choosing their awardees. If they thought that President Obama deserves the award, then it sure has been deliberated into the highest deal. Critics are saying that his unaccomplished promises do not deserve any high affirmation. I believe that hope instilled in the hearts of the majority equates more than a Nobel prize- We shall all be thankful.

A TALE OF TWO STORMS

It was a weekend

No one suspected

A tragedy will bend

And bring a near End

Thousands were affected

Shining souls emerged

Genuine help surfaced

Though immensely devastated, we say WE SURVIVED ONDOY.

Another strong wind

In the north was sent

Floods were back in the scene

Destruction named Pepeng

It is high time people in the position works

It is the right time to test those promising words

True sympathy is what we need

Not the one that fulfills personal heeds
