Short Messaging Monday

So life wouldn’t be complete without Twitter and Facebook? Many would agree and say that social life can now be wired. But, I still believe that text messaging remains as the most intimate mode of wired communication.

Now, let me share some interesting text quotes I received over the weekend. These are not my favorites. I just need to write them down here so I can delete them from my phone.

So let’s start with something factual:

time magazine
“ At 12 hour 34 minutes and 56 seconds
On July 08 this year (2009), the time and date will be:

12:34:56 07/08/09

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

They say this will only happen ONCE in your life.”

Spread the word!

celebrity freak
Then lets move on to this “dramatic” logic of life:

If Wealth is secret to happiness,
Then the rich should be dancing on the streets.
But only poor kids do that.

If Beauty and Fame bring ideal relationships,
Then celebrities should have the best marriages.

If power ensures security,
Then officials should walk unguarded.

But those who live simply, sleeps soundly,
Walk humbly, love genuinely.

bromance
And I shall wrap this up with this Pinoy
(Hopefully funny for you) Text quote:

BALDO : Anong araw ngayon?

ESTONG: Wednesday pare.

BALDO : Sige! Ganyanan na tayo!

ESTONG: Joke lang pare! HAPPY MONTHSARY!
(English Translation: BROMANCE)

Transformers Revenge of The Fallen

Trash all the “I am so creatively credible” critics; Transformers 2 for me , is sensory entertainment overload! I have seen the movie three times already and I still cracked on humor segments and freeze blank with all the flawless visual effects. So, the dispute circulating around which involves Megan Fox (movie lead star) and Michael Bay (movie director extraordinaire) is quite a catch. The two is debating whether the movie is an acting material or nothing but an entourage of expensive CGI and oh so intricate story boards.

Well whichever point is valid, I simply don’t care. The movie is meant to entertain and I believe this was fashionably achieved (or would this be an appropriate description for a movie of robots?) and the $400 million (and counting) earnings of the movie puts some high affirmation to my point.

Now, since I also got so pumped up by the soundtrack of this movie, here are some samplers delivered to us by Greenday, The Fray and Linkin Park. And they say the album is out- Motivation to start a movie soundtrack album collection? Oh yeah!

MTV Blog Squad Search

MTV BLOGGER SEARCH

Finally, I officially joined the MTV Blog Squad search today (the last day). I’ve seen a lot of brilliant bloggers joining the contest and I have high hopes for a Pinoy blogger or two (or three, or even four) to make it. The idea that bloggers are deliberately gaining the power towards becoming an essential information medium that can move beliefs and create opinions is enough reason for me to say that MTV and Nuffnang sure made a neat proposition.

So, if you have time to read my entry, kindly follow this link and if you may, you can also rate it with a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down. My article is about the challenge posted on encouraging people to buy original music and stop illegal downloads.
Here’s hoping to get a little of your time and vote! He He He. See you around.

Techie Lola

Gone are the days when we get annoyed by TV commercials. I know, you had those moments when you are intensely watching your favorite show then climax segments will be cut by lame commercials which will last for like 15 minutes or so. But advertising has gone through massive overhaul making every airtime worth the audience attention. Creativity plus street smart inputs I think is the most formidable formula towards creating a TV material that will create buzz and invite massive attention.

Now, irony comes in because not all cool ideas gather attention. Sometimes, a simple, almost hard induced humor can move a brand to stardom. Take this one as an example.

Then, there are some commercials that are well thought of, made to appear very relevant. Like this techie grandma character used to show how easy it is to get digitally wired.

Connecting to what’s relevant is this local material done by many prominent personalities in the country. The main message? Say No to CON ASS. The airing of this material in the grounds of influential TV networks goes out to say that sensible advocacy deserve a voice and an instrument to amplify it.
