THE BANDWAGON

25
No one really tagged me for this but I’ve been seeing this in many blogs and I think waiting for a tag is like waiting for Batista to go gay. And so, I’m joining the fad of listing 25 interesting things about our self. In my case, you may not find these things interesting so I would call it 25 things about me that I haven’t mentioned yet in this blog.

Here’s hoping to make it to 25.

1. I was the Editor-in-Chief of my grade school’s publication but never really did the EIC job.

2. I was circumcised with my mom as my support and not my father.

3. I was a member of the Lyre and drum band back in grade school, I played the lead drum.

4. I was awarded 10th honor in pre-school but told my mom that I was top 1, because I was the first one to be called during our rehearsals. It was on a 10 to 1 order.

5. I was a Contra, Battle City and Space Craft addict.

6. Back in high school, my crowd will dine in Mc Donald’s for Sundae carrying our take out from Jollibee, for we think Mc Donald’s is high-end.

7. I was a CAT officer with rank M/Commander S2 Intelligence. Our batch was called Foxtrot Admirals.

8. I love tomato ketchup and I so despise the makers of banana ketchup. It tastes ridiculous.

9. I am a Bench fan. Clothes, accessories, scents, hygiene, undies, hair grooming- all by Bench.

10. I suck at Math.

11. I love the radio. I’ve been listening to Chico and Delamar since high school.

12. I once auditioned for a DJ job in a local radio station.

13. I am a Nanay’s boy.

14. After applying this toner on my face, I use the cotton to clean my chucks.

15. I like reading self help books and practical tips on life, health and money.

16. My dream job is what Tim Yap, GP Reyes and Sarah Black currently joggles.

17. I aim to publish my own books.

18. I want to write, direct and produce my own mainstream movie.

19. I would kill to sit with Oprah, Obama, and the Dalai Lama in a Fall Out Boy concert. Damn that would be priceless.

20. My sister is my financial aid, and I am her charity. Haha

21. I like it when my nephews Sean and Santino play with me. Santino would call me daddy and Sean would always bombard me with a hug every time he sees me arrive in our house from the office.

22. I don’t like dogs, but I would love to own turtles.

23. I am a water person, I could drink lots of water in a day ergo, urinates a lot.

24. A person not replying to my text is a BIG deal.

25. I use the right hand. ( go figure).

W H I T E

White. My most favored color. I feel good whenever I wear white clothes. It’s quite timely for the season, but my liking of it is perpetual i think. Is it not too given with how this blog appears?

White. I have tons of white garments and hygiene articles. I am actually an accidental collector of white towels. I think I couldn’t use a towel that is not white.

White. It depicts clarity. In my job, I always start with blank document. Starting with a clean slate assures unique ideas. Starting with point blank means a great development of thoughts which can inject possibilities of originality.

White is peace of mind. With the way life is structured today, having peace is such a luxury. It’s not easy to gain it, because of the complicated prerequisites.

White is the absence of doubt. A small pinch of dirt can challenge its credibility of being immaculate and pure. This is the mantra I so like with white – the argument is very fluid; its either your white or dirty.

ABS-CBN SUMMER STATION ID 2009

So, the last post helped me draw some fresh perspective and now that i feel like being in the zone again, let me bounce back with this new station ID of ABS-CBN for the summer season. Its very light and easy but if you'll discern through the message, its compelling, simply moving and worth the cry of all advocacy.

Now, most bloggers would add commercial breaks in their posts, so let me do the same by showing you these two TV commercials which won Gold in the recently concluded Kidlat Awards. Kidlat is one of the premiere awards for Advertising and marketing campaigns.

CALL IT DRAMA

I don’t know what to write about today. For the past days, I felt like I’ve been losing grip on blogging. I just bounce back to its original purpose- To blog when there are no stiff deadlines. Maybe it comes naturally when no inspiration strikes a writer. It happens. It happens to me at work. It is happening to me right now in this blog.

This blog opened up a lot of domains for me. It served as my outlet to speak my mind out. It has been my doodle board to let out creative energies. It has been my little coffee social site to meet people of different stories and smiles. It has also opened up to a lot of self discovery. On the flip side, it also attracted a lot of bad words from people who might have been annoyed by some of my articles and opinions. I won’t be all too mighty and say I’m not affected, but I won’t quit thinking out loud just because some freaks are aiming to bring me down.

A lot of things happened these past few days and I feel like floating with no direction. I’m losing my sense to plan, I’ve been missing out a lot on my readings, and I’ve been skipping church. A week after missing Sunday church is absolutely a mess for me. Just the other night, all emotions went down and all baggage came into clear realization. It feels good to cry sometimes. It feels good to feel the vulnerability of being a human. It feels good to flush all the pain and frustrations with tears. It feels good to stop being self-critical and just fall down. And certainly, it feels good to set aside those people who make your life a little too complicated.

It feels good to break down the defenses.
I hope to be at church this Sunday.
Forgive me for I thought of posting a personal blog entry today.

YOU CHANGED MY LIFE REVIEW

Okay. Call me “baduy”, “bakya” and even “jologs” but I have to admit that I watched “You Changed my Life” movie of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo not once, not twice but yeah for three random times. A little birdie even quipped that his perceived level of my taste suddenly went down after I told him this. Well, what can I say? I am a Sarah Geronimo fan. Bleh!

The Movie is “bakya”, “baduy”, “jologs”.

This is true, but the movie was not created for a niche market. I have seen the movie in Trinoma for the three random times I’ve seen the movie. I would have to say that the cult is composed of different people belonging to different social classes. To top it off, Trinoma somehow caters to high end markets.
Another thing, it’s not right to set “bad taste” by default every time a movie presents a “bakya” theme. Though “bakya”, “baduy”, and “jologs” are strong vernaculars but we still have to consider that their definitions are still relative and non-standard.

The Movie presented non-intelligent plot.

Wise men and women were saying that there are few moments in the movie when the plot is collapsing, the director would just create tons of John Lloyd close-up shots and the audience is back on track- attention captured again. This may be true but again I would have to agree that the movie did not aim to present a “Slumdog Millionaire” kind of plot. If you start thinking, you’ll lose the appetite to enjoy the movie.

The Movie is just Hype.

I’d have to say that ABS-CBN is always efficient in promoting their movies. Aside from this, they know how to create good team ups. The timing is always set properly. But, we also have to give high credits to the lead. The movie didn’t earn tons of money if it’s not for the stars and the director of course.
All in all, the movie is a great getaway to the daily stress were facing. It’s a beautiful picture which presents candid humor and society truths. If there would be a third instalment, I would kill to be in the premiere!

CAMERA CAFE

Brewing out fresh wits and simple yet funny punch lines in our local television is a five minute show called Camera Cafe. It is backed up by the brilliant mind of prime director Mark Meily and starred by some of the best character actors and actresses of the country. The show’s original theme came all the way from Europe. Done with a local flavor, Camera Cafe is currently enjoying a significant number of followers.

Whenever I have a chance to watch this short program, it really never fails to make me laugh and keep stress away in oblivion. The sleek pacing is just the way I like it. So, Kudos to this show!

The show is locally produced by Euro-Asia Media Group, Ltd., and it airs every weekday on GMA-7 before Gobingo. Subsequent airings are shown on Q Channel 11 at the following times: 8:00 p.m., 11 p.m., 10 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m.- GMA online

FALL OUT BOY LIVE IN MANILA 2009 PHOTOS

It was Friday the 13th but no fear reigned, only pure and high Euphoria! Okay, it may sound a little too superlative but I really enjoyed the Fall Out Boy Concert in Araneta Coliseum. They started with "Thanks for the Memories" and the rest is like songs full of climax and rocking orgasm.

The best part? When they sung "American Boy" by Estelle. Pete said "Manila girl, I'll take you to New York! I'll take you to LA!" Then the girls went Lady Gaga, I mean they went super Gaga.

Here's hoping that FOB will make their Philippine visit a yearly activity! Yihaaa!
Okay, Ill be quiet now.

Opps, its kinda late for this post and forgive me for the photos, I enjoyed way much I forgot to capture the memories.
