My forecast of the Survivor Philippines first Sole Survivor turned out to be highly truthful. JC Tiuseco received majority of the jurors votes plus the trademark viewers votes which happens only in the Philippines. I don't want to spark any issue, but it felt like the show appeared to be canned with JC receiving the title with no surprise. I didn't find the reunion special intriguing at all. I think the characters built in the show were not solid interesting. There were attempts to build issues like “bromance”, the usual TV stuff love team and of course, the “ I am poor, I should win” thingamajig, but all turned out to be relatively futile.
The success of the show banks on the populariy and the massive numbers of followers who really held tight to the show (uhm, count me in). The web buzz was also significantly felt, but i think GMA did not handle the web activities that well. Of course, it is quite evident that the show earned a lot in terms of advertising. Brands like Clear, Pond’s and Mountain Dew were included in some challenges which actually cost a fortune against the normal cost of a canned 30-seconder TV ad. I would have to say that GMA really served well in returning the bucks of money these brands spent for the program. In my perspective, great mileage was achieved in advertising for Survivor Philippines.
Like Project Runway, I believe that Survivor format fits the Pinoy culture well. Given this, I highly believe that GMA will do Survivor Philippines Season 2 or even many other seasons after that. I hope that they will improve more and select more interesting castaways.
Now, do you think there should be a Survivor Philippines 2?

Denis is actually a fan on Survivor Ph. :) That much I know.
I still think that the show had a respectable run. Add up the fact that it was well supported by the masa, yeah, they do deserve a 2nd season.
Being a survivor philippines viewer, I am confident that there will be a season 2 and more to come. the run was a hit to the mass and to the advertisers as well. i really hope..
